After Siauliai, I continue west towards Klaipeda by train. Any visitors coming to Klaipeda wants to see the Curonian Spit National Park, one of the most odd geographical landscape in the world. This simply consists of a 100km x 5km piece of narrow piece of peninsula extended from the Kaliningrad region of Russia all the way into Lithuania, with many sand dunes in between. The most famous one to visitors is the one from Nida, and that is the one I visited.
Klaipeda is also a beautiful city, and the third largest city in Lithuania (besides Vilnius and Kaunas). It has a strong German influence and it can be seen by the many German architectures in the city.
There are lots of souvenir stands in the region, including a lot of amber souvenirs for sale. I bought lots of pictures with amber decoration for my piano students.
